Good Morning! - Day 5

Good Morning Everyone!

Today is the final day of the 2024 National Derby Championship! We will begin the morning with the 9th Series, where we have 19 dog teams called back. We will be kicking this series off very shortly!

It is set to be another warm day today here in Sedalia. As of 7:40 am, it is 58 degrees and expected to warm up to 88 for a high. Skies are mostly clear and there isn't much wind currently.

We are VERY excited to see who will win the honor of being the 2024 National Derby Champion! Stay Tuned!

Good Morning! – Day 4

Good Morning Everyone!

We are four days into the 2024 National Derby Championship. Our Judges have set up a Land Double in the Dam Field, where we will soon kick off the 32 dogs still in contention.

It is a warmer today. As of 7:30, it is 51 degrees and expected to warm up to 83 degrees. Skies are clear and we have a 4 mph SSE wind.

We are on a slight delay, waiting for the sun to rise over the hill.

Good Morning! – Day 3

Good Morning Everyone and Welcome to day 3 of the National Derby!

We are starting off this morning with the 5th Series, which will be a Land Double. Test dogs are running and then we will have our first running dog #55 starting the series. 

Today we have 52 Dogs called back to run this Series.

It is another crisp 48 degree morning in Sedalia, with clear skies. Today has an expected high of 80 degrees and more sunny skies all day with wind gusts up to 6 mph. If conditions change, we will post updates throughout the day.

Good Morning! – Day 2

Good Morning Everyone and Welcome to day 2 of the National Derby!

We are kicking off this morning with the start of the 3rd Series, which will be a Land Double with a Duck Flyer. Test dogs are set to run at 7:30 am, then we will have our first running dog directly after. 

Today we have all 58 Dogs back to run this Series.

It is another crisp 45 degree morning here, with clear skies. Today has an expected high around 75 degrees and we are looking forward to sunny skies all day with very light breeze. We will post update throughout the day for any conditions that change.

Good Morning! – Day 1

Good Morning Everyone and Welcome to the 2024 National Retriever Derby Championship! 

This morning we are kicking off the event at the 1st series test location. First, we will be singing the National Anthem at about 7:30 am, then we will have a brief presentation by Retrieving Freedom directly following that. Test dogs will come to the line after the presentation and then we will have our first running dog, #49 shortly after test dogs have run. 

Today we have 58 Dogs Starting this Series. (2 dogs have Scratched: 31 and 46)

Currently it is a crisp 45 degrees here, with clear sunny skies. Today has an expected high around 73 degrees and we look forward to sunny skies all day. We will update you with changing conditions as the day goes on. For now, stay tuned as we prepare to begin the running of the 8th Annual National Retriever Derby Championship!
